We're halfway there!

This is an update the following day which was longer than we'd planned as there was a bridge out resulting in a diversion. We might have to recalculate our mid point but for now here is a picture of us passing in front of the first house passed that we think will be the first settlement of any size after halfway. We of course (well ok just Chris) names it halfway house. A moment later we passed halfway trailer home and I think both were abandoned. It really is pretty run down in rural Texas.
Saw a Pyrrhuloxia for the first time today in roadside trees. It's the southern ewuivalent of the cardinal which is the prototype of the "angry bird. " Not much of a picture but it's a memory.
Oh and I've been meaning to show a picture of the melted tar in Texas  at least it is smoother than the fresh rough grade gravel they use.
Finally we've seen some Prarie Dogs down here in Texas.

108.5 miles today to reach Stamford Tx in 6hrs 47 minutes. 1330.8 miles since Oceanside.
