TEX EX. We're in Louisiana now.

After leaving San Augustine on another cool sunny morning we had just 27 miles to go to reach Louisiana, our fifth state of the trip. The border is on a three mile long bridge over the Toledo Bend reservoir and just before we got onto the bridge we saw three Bald Eagles, the first of the trip.
The roads seemed smooth here but after 1845 miles we rode over a badly aligned expansion joint on a bridge over the Red River and Chris got a pinch puncture, his first of the trip compared with four for Keith.
We got to our hotel in Natchitoches, La after only 75 miles so we rode on for another 29 miles to get a head start for tomorrow which will be a long day and take us over the Mississippi River and out of Louisiana.

Texas is SO yesterday. Welcome to Louisiana.

The first town in Louisiana is called Many.
At their huge high school they have many Many school buses sitting out Sunday.
